An unusual and more abstract work depicting a flower rising out of dark shadows into the light
The Panel is mounted to a rigid wooden cradle support (on the back) for extra strength but also acts as an attractive mount for the painting so it can be hung as it is without a frame. It has been primed on both sides using a high quality panel gesso.

Welcome to the landscape gallery, a small selection of recent works by the artist.

The works are essentially traditional although some of them take on an aspect that is slightly surreal and an element of the 'chinoise' influence can be detected. They are painted on panels in egg/oil tempera and oil glazes using methods Briscoe has developed based on the techniques used by the great European masters.
